Privacy Policy

5circle Co, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the smartphone applications provided by the Company (hereinafter referred to as “the Application”) and the services provided through the Application (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”).

Article 1 (Definition of Personal Information)

In this Policy, “Personal Information” refers to “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Act”), and means information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, or other description contained in the information (including information that can be easily collated with other information and thereby identify the specific individual).

Article 2 (Information to be Acquired and Method of Acquisition)

The Company may acquire or automatically collect the following information from users in the Service:

  1. Information provided directly by the user
    • Profile information (nickname, date of birth, gender, location, occupation, etc.)
    • Profile image, photos, and self-introduction text
    • Information contained in official identification documents (driver’s license, passport, etc.) for identity and age verification
    • Contact information such as name and email address entered at the time of inquiry
  2. Information automatically acquired in connection with the use of the Service
    • Cookies, IP addresses, and device identification tokens (IDFV / IDFA, etc.)
    • Log information, usage history within the Service, purchase history, and action history
    • Location data (only with the user’s consent, acquired for purposes such as providing matching functions)

Article 3 (Purpose of Use of Personal Information)

The Company will use the acquired personal information for the following purposes:

  1. For registration, identity verification, and age verification (confirmation of being 18 years of age or older) for the Service
  2. To provide the core functions of the Service, such as matching and messaging
  3. To prevent unauthorized use, maintain a safe user environment, and respond to acts that violate the Terms of Service
  4. For customer support and responding to inquiries regarding the Service
  5. To improve the Service, develop new features, and analyze marketing data

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the consent of the user, except as permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act and other laws and regulations, and in the following cases:

  1. When there is a disclosure request based on laws and regulations from courts, police, or other public agencies
  2. When it is necessary for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
  3. When delegating all or part of the handling of personal information to a trusted contractor within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use

Article 5 (Account Deletion and Erasure of Personal Information)

  1. Users may request withdrawal from the Service and deletion of their account at any time through the withdrawal procedure within the Application or through the designated inquiry window.
  2. Upon receiving a request for account deletion or personal information erasure from a user and verifying their identity, the Company will promptly erase the relevant personal information within a reasonable period, except for data required to be retained by law (such as transaction history).

Article 6 (Security Control Measures)

The Company will take appropriate technical, physical, and organizational security control measures to prevent the loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction of users’ personal information.

Article 7 (Changes to This Policy)

The Company may change this Policy as necessary. In the event of a change, the Company will notify users within the Application or on the Company’s website. The revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is published.
